bio

I was born (1998) in the unceded territory of lÉ™k̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples (Victoria) and I currently live in unceded xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™y̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and sÉ™lilwÉ™taɬ Nations' territory (Vancouver). I am of a Peruvian and Irish ancestry.

I paint, draw, animate, create films, make music, do performance art and participate in collaborative video projects as an actor and writer. Matters of the body, space, natural law, function, absurdity, dreams, sex, and relational experience are recurring in my work. The confrontation of sex, power and perversion and articulation of body horrors is an act I do through art. With regard to physical media, I enjoy considering mindfulness around materials, at times scavenging or utilizing natural and found materials in ways that surprise me.

My undergraduate education in Global and International Studies specializing in Anthropology (Carleton University) and post-graduate degree in Art Therapy (Kutenai Art Therapy Institute) show up in my art through my interests in cultural experience, sociopolitical power dynamics, ritual and ceremony, and the healing significance of art making.
